The National Trust's Lavenham Guildhall 360 Tour

A project commissioned by The National Trust and Arts Council England and supported Essex Cultural Diversity Project.

The dilemma for The National Trust was, ‘How does Lavenham Guildhall remain relevant to local residents and tourists.’

They wanted creative responses and we suggested and designed digital activations that could amplify the reach of the guildhall.

This tour was not meant for a public facing experience, it was to for The National Trust staff to experience the artwork and the possibility of a 360 tour. We thought we would share the possibility that other heritage and creative sites could also commission a tour.

The activations where inspired by the content of online and in person community workshops we organised in spoken word, delivered by Trigger Your Bliss, 2D and 3D art with Tom Armstrong and Creative Technology with our Creative Director Kwesi Johnson.

From the artworks The Cultural Assembly created QR code activated audio experiences, augmented reality targets, a virtual reality metaverse, a 360 tour and various digital avatars to share the message of The Guildhall .

Within this tour when you see a heart after the opening space, you can click them to see some of the artwork created in the workshops.

For the best experience on the PC, view it in full screen. You can follow the white hotspots or jump to different locations using the row of images at the bottom of the viewer.

You can also experience on a phone, a VR headset’s web browser and a Google cardboard headset.
